Spencer Cash

Spencer grew up in Hickory, Mississippi, and graduated from Lake High School in 2009. He attended East Central Community College, earning an Associate of Arts in English. From there, he graduated from the University of Mississippi in 2013 with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. As a junior, he was awarded the Mississippi Critical Needs Teacher Shortage Scholarship.

Upon graduation, he taught 7th grade English at N.H. Pilate Middle School in Newton, Mississippi. In his second year of teaching, he received the district-wide Teacher of the Year award. After teaching an additional year in Athens, Georgia, he transitioned from teaching to a role in non-profit youth development as an AmeriCorps VISTA. He was then hired by the Memphis Grizzlies as a coordinator for the organization’s TEAM Mentor Program, an after-school mentoring program that pairs volunteer mentors with middle school students across the city. His work with the TEAM Mentor Program earned him the 2020 MENTOR Memphis Grizzlies Mentor Practitioner of the Year award. In 2021, Spencer and his family decided it was time to return to Mississippi, and he began law school at the University of Mississippi School of Law.

During law school, Spencer was active in several student organizations, including the Magnolia Defenders, Mississippi Law Journal, the Negotiation Board, and the MacArthur Justice Clinic. He interned with the Office of the Shelby County Public Defender, the Georgia Public Defender’s Gang and RICO Unit, and with Hickman, Goza & Spragins in Oxford. He earned several awards during school, including winning the Chicago Bar Association’s Transactional Law Negotiation Competition and the Mississippi Law Journal’s Outstanding Service Award. He graduated magna cum laude in 2024

Spencer joins the firm after serving as a law clerk for Presiding Judge Jack L. Wilson on the Mississippi Court of Appeals. His past roles serving as an advocate for students, mentees, and clients have prepared him with the skills needed to succeed as a litigator and client advocate.

Spencer resides in Clinton with his wife, Madeline, and their daughter.
